Note to Self

With 2025 off to a rocky start, I let my freedom ring with my tools and paint on a large canvas I started in 2024. I turned it on its side and voiced my thoughts on current events.

Malibu

The hills of Malibu are known for their stunning views - but in December 2024 the Franklin Fire reminded us how precarious those views can be. Unfortunately, more devastating fires hit the same area less than a month later. The land is beginning to recover and the beauty has begun the long process of recovery.

Canyon View

I often take a 2-mile round trip hike up Canyon View Avenue and down to the corner at the base of the hill. It's a steep climb, a good cardio walk, and the view from the top is always the reward - whether it's clear or cloudy, early or late.

Golden Hour

There is something about autumn lighting that brings out the gold in the hills!

These two 8 x 8 inch pieces are on 3/4-inch cradled wood panels and set in maple floater frames.

Left to right, Golden Hour 1 and Golden Hour 2.

A New Day

The local foothills and the skies above are always full of surprises.
